A new 2012 Snowball event! The Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival "Snowball Princess Pageant". Fun for girls ages 4 to 13. Please enter by January 31, 2012 in one of 3 Age Categories: Snowball Snowflake ~ Ages 4 to 5 ~ enter a snow themed picture, Snowball Snow Princess ~ Ages 6 to 8 ~ enter a snow themed poem, Snowball Snow Queen ~ Ages 9 to 13 ~ enter a snow themed essay. Entries must be previously unpublished original work and there are prizes for the winners. Parents must complete & sign an entry form. Winners must participate in Prize Ceremony at the Family Skating Party on Fri. Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and in the Snowball Parade on Sat. Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. ~ $3 Snowball Button required. Snowball is an award winning celebration!
On March 29, 2008 at the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce gala, Haliburton County Warden Eleanor Harrison presented Jim Jones, chair of the Dorset Snowball Committee with her Warden's choice "Award of the Year for 2007". "The entire village of Dorset deserves the accolades" she said. Everyone in Dorset rallies behind the event which has something to offer for people of all ages, indoors and out.
